Day 103 - Reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas

Day 103

I love this video.  Especially the part when they sing every knee shall bow and they kneel down before the baby Jesus.

We need more of this and I would love to be a part of something like this.

Day 102 -baby it's cold outside

Day 102
Baby it's cold outside

There is a big storm brewing and so I'm am really grateful for a nice warm house.  And electricity.....to keep it warm so I can play on my iPad and watch tv.

A roof  and heat are two things you don't want to be without when the weather is nasty.

I don't mind the rain if I can be inside all snugly under my covers.
So bring it on Mother Nature.

Day 100 - Oops! And 101

Day 100
& 101

So yesterday I came home and ate and then I fell asleep.
Oops!
So, I missed day 100..... Rats!

I will say I'm pretty impressed with myself for keeping with this for this long.

I even had thought about what I was gonna say so here goes and it can count for two days.....
I'm grateful for my healthy body.  It's something you really don't always appreciate until one day it's not healthy.  But having good health is such a blessing.  I want to be more appreciative of my good health and my families.  We are very blessed.

And I'm really thankful for Pandora and Christmas music!
Oh and my new phone.  It's really awesome.

Day 99 - Monday

Day 99
Monday

Got our Christmas tree up tonight!
I am really excited for Christmas this year.  It's gonna be great.  There is only one thing that could mark it better......I wish Courtney could be home.  Everyone will be here and I am planning on enjoying every minute I can with the family.

Day 98 - And its Sunday Again!

Day 98
And its Sunday again!

Wow, this week has really gone by fast.  And these past 4 days have been a blur.  The time just went to fast.  I am so not ready to go back to work tomorrow.  I am really dreading it.  Hopefully, we will be able to lots done and we can put this election to bed!

Again, I do love Sundays because I can go to church and just try to renew for the next week.  I had to send Ciara back to Idaho this morning which is always a little sad.  But good news is she will be back in 3 weeks and I know the time will speed by.

I am really thankful for the great Thanksgiving weekend and for my family and I am thankful for left overs...no cooking for me today.

And this video just makes you feel good and makes me grateful to be a part of such an amazing organization.

I love my church
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Day 97

Day 97

Spent the day shopping with Ciara.
It was fun to hang out with before she has to head back to school.
Also, my parents came over for dinner and we had an early birthday
celebration for Ciara.
Got up most of Christmas except the tree and that will be tomorrow.
It has been a really busy couple of days but all good.
And the weather has just been perfect.
I couldn't have ordered better weather.

Good Day!

Day 96 - Black Friday

Day 96
Black Friday

I don't get into the whole black Friday shopping ordeal.
I enjoy my sleep to much and I don't like waiting in line, or freezing or crowds of people.  I am happy to let everyone else have the "fun" of all that craziness.

I slept in.  Finally, got up and did my black Friday shopping all online...it was perfect, no lines, no crowds, no searching for a parking spot,...just me and my couch, my breakfast and my ipad.  I don't understand why everyone isn't shopping this way but to each his/her own.

Finally, got up and out of the house about 3:00.

I am enjoying my weekend and enjoying spending time with Ciara.

I

Day 95 - Thanksgiving

Day 95
Thanksgiving

So, I have been writing this blog for 95 days now and for the most part it has helped me realize how many things I have to be grateful for.  Some days I had to think hard but I have always been able to come up with something.  And now its actually Thanksgiving so what am I going to say....

I have so many blessing in my life but mostly I am thankful for my family and for the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Those are my top two and without them I don't think I would have much to be thankful for.

I did have a great day.  I got to eat two thanksgiving dinners with my two wonderful families.  How lucky am I?

I skyped with my two kids who couldn't make it and that was really fun.

I shopped online all morning and got a lot of my Christmas shopping done while in my pajama's.  I didn't even get in the shower until after noon.  It was really just a nice relaxing day.

And I have 3 more days of my weekend still to enjoy.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.

Day 94

Day 94

I am so thankful today was my last day of work for 4 whole days!
I am so in need of a break from work.
I am so excited to spend time with my family, relax, and maybe do some shopping

Now if I can just get my jello to work...first batch...total fail!
And I am so tired.  It didn't set right and it spilled all over my fridge...cleaning my whole fridge was not part of my plan for the night.  Especially, at 10:30 at night.  I really wanted to cry but my sweet children came to my rescue and helped clean it up and helped me start again.

Okay, goodnight.  Tomorrow will be a better day.

Day 93 - this one is easy

Day 93

Ciara is home!  Yay, I'm so thankful to have her here for Thanksgiving.
And so is Coco.

Happy Day!

Day 92

Day 92

Today I'm am thankful for my husband who got Ciara's room ready for her.  Ciara comes home today for thanksgiving.  We are so excited!  But her room had turned into the "lets put everything we don't have a place for room".   And it needed to be cleaned up/out.  I thought I was going to have to do it after work but when I got home. . . It was all done!

Such a relief.  His back is out so I knew he couldn't do it but he did anyway.  It was the best thing ever.  I love those kinds of surprises!

Day 91 - Mormon

Day 91

Today in Sunday school we were learning about Mormon.  He was a really amazing young man.

He faced some very difficult challenges and lived during a time when the people around him were very wicked.  And even though it seemed hopeless, he never gave up hope.  I loved this quote my Sunday school teacher shared today

"Although we also live in a time of great wickedness, we must not be a part of it.  By following Mormon's example of steadfastness and faith, and by studying the records he so carefully preserved, we can withstand the evil influences of our day and provide an example of courage and hope for others."
I forgot who said it but I like it.

"They were once a delightsome people, and they had Christ for their shepherd; yea, they were led even by God the Father.
But now, behold, they are led about by Satan, even as chaff is driven before the wind, or as a vessel is tossed about upon the waves, without sail or anchor, or without anything wherewith to steer her; and even as she is, so are they."
Mormon 5: 17-18

I feel like this scripture could be talking about us, Americans, today.

It makes me feel even more urgency to strive to be better.
I am grateful for this young Mormon and his example and I am so grateful that I have the Book of Mormon to read and study and learn from and hopefully, to learn from others mistakes and not make the same ones.

Day 89 & 90

Day 89 & 90
Shoot I forgot again...

I totally forgot to blog again last night.  I must be even more tired then I realize.  Seriously, I completely forgot.

Had to work today...today is SATURDAY....that is just wrong.
AHHHHH!  I am sooooo ready to be done with working all this overtime.  I am also done with observers.  Do you know how annoying it is to have someone watching EVERYTHING you do?

Ok, I am done complaining.  Apparently, I also forgot this is a thankful blog not a complaining blog.

I'm thankful for my Coco.  She is the best dog.
I'm thankful it is almost Thanksgiving.
I'm thankful Ciara will be home in 2 1/2 days.
I'm thankful David got to go with his cousin to the BYU football game in San Jose today.

I'm thankful my hubby takes care of me and knows I don't want to cook when I am working so many hours and so he takes me to Leatherby's.
I'm thankful tomorrow is Sunday and I can rest and go to church.

Day 88

Day 88

Today I am thankful for the valiant spirits that are here on earth today and who are heeding the Lords call and serving missions.  These young people are so strong and such great examples.  Just today I know 3 who received their missions calls.  And I know so many more who are already serving or who are preparing to serve.

This is such an exciting time.

Day 87- clean sheets, heat and family

Day 87

I'm having such a hard time coming up with any good thoughts for today's post.

I feel like all I do is work & sleep.
(aren't you tired of hearing me say that)

Okay, I got it.  Today, my wonderful husband, changed the sheets on our bed.  Yay, for clean sheets.  I don't want you to get the impression I never change my sheets.  Cuz, I do its just that the sheets we had on the bed are a set that just won't stay on and every night they come off and that drives me crazy!!!!  I wanted to put new ones on on Sunday but I was just too tired.

And I am really thankful for heat.
I have been watching the news about all those people who are still without heat because of the storm  Sandy.  They have been without heat for weeks now.
That is awful.  I am super grateful for heat...I hate to be cold.

I love my family too!

Day 86 - Skype

Day 86

Skype

I am grateful for skype.  It is just a wonderful tool.
How great it is to be able to see and talk to your family even when they
are hundreds of miles away.  Its just makes you feel closer then when you talk on the phone.  Being able to actually see their face and their expressions really makes you feel closer.

Ya, technology is pretty awesome.

Day 83 & 84 what is happening

Day 83 & 84
What is happening . . .

I totally forgot about posting yesterday.
I have to get back into the groove.
Not that I did anything exciting...
yesterday, I slept in, went grocery shopping,
did some laundry, cleaned the refrigerator
and watch Netflix.

And today, went to church, made a really awesome dinner, watched amazing race and have discovered a new website Wanelo.
Its pretty cool.  Now I know what to buy my girls for Christmas and if anyone wants to see what I want well you can go see.

It has been great to have a whole weekend off.  Too catch up on sleep, chores, and my shows.  Back to work tomorrow to try and finish up this election.  And then try to enjoy the holidays.

I do want to mention since today is Vetern's Day how grateful I am for all the men and women who are serving or who have served our country but mostly I'm thankful for my own grandpa who served in WWII.  He is a great man and I'm thankful he is my grandpa.

Day 81 & 82 I think I'm back

Day 81 & 82
Today is Friday

Yesterday, I was just to tired to write.  I felt like I had been run over by a Mack truck.  Today, I am not so tired and I found out that I get a full weekend.
I get two days off!  I am so excited about this ..... and my plan is to not do much
just stay home, sleep, watch some Netflix  maybe do some laundry, may go to the grocer store.  Basically just relax.

I am really thankful for a two day weekend.  In fact, I am so happy about it that I am not even mad that I have to work on Monday, which is actually a holiday.

And yes, I got a new phone.  Which I am loving.  I am still learning how to use it and it has so many things I still have no idea how to do yet but I am learning.

Yep this is what I have now.
So, pretty.  It has helped me to cheer me up....election results = boo:(

Day 78, 79 & 80

Day 78, 79 & 80

Tomorrow is election day.
I am so exhausted.  Today was just long and tiring.
Yesterday, I think I just forgot to blog.  I am losing my mind.

Big new about today...I got a new phone.

I finally upgraded to a smartphone!  yay, for me and Yay, for my
husband buying it for me.  It is my very early christmas present.

I just have to figure out how to use it.  I will update you on my life hopefully, Wednesday.  I will not be blogging tomorrow.  Becuase I am working from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. the next morning.

Remember to vote!

Day 77 - Daylight Savings

Day 77
Daylight savings

I am not gonna lie and am so excited that we get an extra hour sleep tonight.
I can really use it.  It couldn't come at a better time.
Hopefully, I will actually be able to sleep that extra hour.

I am also so thankful today for my family and thankful we are all healthy.
A very pregnant women came into our office today.  She looked like she was ready to have that baby any day.  When she came up to the counter she started to cry.....she handed a ballot to the person who was helping her and struggled to say that the ballot belonged to her husband who just died a week ago....saddest thing ever!  I really started to cry.  I can't even imagine how her heart must be   broken.  I have nothing to complain about when I see things like this.  I am very blessed.  Take a minute today to hug the ones you love....

Day 76 - 4 more days

Day 76
Four more days

.....and the election will be over.  This makes me happy.
I will be glad for Wed to come because then all the political mail and commercials will stop.  And no more voter traffic in our lobby and no more voter phone calls.  Oh! happy day.
And my feet will be happiest of all.

I can do this.  Four more days.

Day 75 - I appreciate thoughtful people

Day 75
Thoughtful people

Its the little things that can make your day.

Again, I got home so late and am just exhausted.  I wanted so much just to put on my jammies and go lay down in my bed and relax and fall asleep.  But I had to carpool for EGMTC.  And I was just getting ready to head out the door when the other mom I carpool with calls and says she knows I'm tired and so she wants to go get the kids for me!  What really, Thank you dear sweet Leesa.
I wish I could really express to you how much of a relief it is for me to not have to go.  You just made my day.

I'm really thankful for thoughtful people.
They make a difference.

Day 74 - More of the same

Day 74
More of the Same

Basically, today was pretty much the same as the last few days only tonight
we went to get dinner because it was late by the time I got home and I was tired and we wanted to be gone because I just wasn't up for trick or treaters.

We went to Smash Burger.  And it was so good.

Love it there.  You should go.  They have really good haystack onions and the shakes are to dye for.
